We heartiestly thank each and every individual who assist us to conclude the project Santé Animaux without any hassle which was an effort of many enthusiastic personnel.
The A2 Sports Day organized by Leo District 306 A2 was held on 18th of December 2022, at the Polwatta Football ground. The sports tournament was held to showcase the sports skills of the Leos of Leo District 306 A2. Here, Leos were classified under three houses related to the three regions belonging to Leo District 306 A2, and the three houses were Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin respectively. Regional Directors of Leo District 306 A2 led the three houses.
Director of Region A, Leo Thisuri Nisalya was the house captain of house Slytherin. Leo Sandani Asha, Director of Region B was the captain of house Gryffindor. The house captain of Ravenclaw was Leo Sachintha Kapuge, Director of Region C. Competition events were classified as track, field, swimming and team events and sports events were held under them. At the end of the day, Gryffindor House won the overall championship of the tournament.
Draconum Fabula 2022 – Annual Orientation Program of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa was held successfully on 20th October 2022. It was held at the university premises with the presence of Past Leos, members and prospects. Around 150 newbies joined us on this occasion. This time the theme of the event was based on the ever-famous TV series Games of Thrones and all the background items and crops were decorated graciously in accordance with the theme. At the orientation we were able to get to know our newbies and gave them a chance to share their project ideas with us. And it was decided to implement some of their innovative ideas as initiative projects in the upcoming months.
Leadership development is one of the major factors that are sought to be gained through Leo clubs. While developing our own leadership skills, we did not forget to bring out the hidden leaders buried inside our dear brothers and sisters. Through this initiative we hope to induce collaborative thinking and team skills in young school children dispersed throughout the country. Accordingly, LEAP itself stands for Learn, Engage, Apply and Perform.
Phase-1 of LEAP 22/23 was held on 26th and 27th of October 2022 at Godapitiya National School, Akuressa. A multitude of school children including prefects, received a complete training conducted by the experienced members of our club.
Starting from warm up exercises the games and activities heated up with each step forward. The large group was broken into smaller teams and they were given the challenge of being the best team by the end of the programme. Games like blind train and treasure hunt taught them how to develop trust in each other when working together as a team. The closing of the first day was done in style with a raging bonfire with impromptu drama sessions.
On the second day, an invaluable first-aid training session was conducted to train everyone present in the basic skills of first aid in the case of an emergency. A camping version of the cookery competition ensured that they learn to cook meals with limited resources. Amidst loads of fun and laughter, youngsters learned some essential soft skills they would require for their entire lifetime. As per the challenge set at the beginning, an awards ceremony was hosted to sum up the leadership camp with the best team being awarded the prize they deserved and all participants were awarded certificates.
ලෝක ළමා දිනය කේන්ද්ර කොටගෙන මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජය සමාජයේ අප විසින් පැලවත්ත, රනේපුරගොඩ ප්රාථමික විද්යාලය ඉලක්ක කරගෙන ඔක්තෝබර් 04 වන දින උදෑසන 8 සිට 12 දක්වා නායකත්ව පුහුණු කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් පැවැත්විණි. විවිධ ක්රියාකාරකම් මගින් ළමුන්ගේ භාෂා කුසලතා මෙන්ම නායකත්වය හා කණ්ඩායම් හැගීම ඉස්මතු කිරීමට හැකි විය.
තවද, එවැනි දුශ්කර පළාතක අධ්යාපනය ලබන ඔවුන් වෙනුවෙන් විවිධ රස කැවිලි වර්ග බෙදා දී සතුටට පත් කිරීමටද අපට හැකිවිය.

As UOM Leos, we are eager to bring some color to our university premises. The outdoor benches in the Sentra Court of University of Moratuwa were demolished due to a variety of reasons. That is why we initiated the Project Sentrovation.
As the first step, we solicited creative design ideas from our undergraduates with the intention of turning their ideas into a reality. We received a slew of fantastic concepts due to the design suggestion competition. Among many amazing, unique, and creative creations, the design by Kavindu Gayan was named the best.
Everything is now in place to launch Project Sentrovation. We invite all of you to join "Team Sentrovation" now.
Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is a success.

The 'SDG Awareness Booth' was conducted with the motive of educating university undergraduates of University of Moratuwa about Sustainable Development Goals. The project was held on 26th of September from 3.00 to 7.00 pm. It was organized by the G17 University Ambassador's Consortium of University of Moratuwa partnering up with Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa, Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa, Leo Club of University of Moratuwa, Classical Music Society and Mora Lenz.
To ensure that the event would be enjoyable, a mini–SDG Contest, game items, and awareness sessions with a few celebrity appearances were present to take action on Sustainable Development Goals, undergraduates were encouraged to be active in contributing towards the community they live in. Together with these events, a sing along session was held concurrently to keep the audience gathered enthralled. Everyone gathered there enjoyed the project thoroughly and they learnt the importance of protecting the SDG goals.
නැණ පියසක ලෙන්ගතුකමත් සමගින් මෙවර උසස් පෙළ සමත් වී විශ්ව විද්යාල හෝ වෙනත් උසස් අධ්යාපන ආයතනයක අධ්යාපනය ලැබීමට බලාපොරොත්තුවෙන් සිටින අපේම සහෝදර සහෝදරියන් වෙනුවෙන් මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජය විසින් සංවිධානය කෙරුණු මෙය, සැප්තැම්බර් මස 15 වැනි දින සිට පුරා දවස් 5ක් මුළුල්ලේ සෑම විෂය ධාරාවක් ඔස්සේම පැවැත්වුණි. ආරම්භක වැඩසටහන පැවැත්වුයේ භෞතීය විද්යා විෂය ධාරාව ඔස්සේ වන අතර අනෙකුත් දවස් වල පිළිවෙලින් ජීව විද්යා, වාණිජ, කලා, තාක්ෂණවේදය හා පොදු විෂය ධාරාව ඔස්සේ පැවැත්වුණි.
ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඈත දුෂ්කර දිස්ත්රික්කවල මෙන්ම ප්රමාණවත් පහසුකම් සහිතව අධ්යාපනයක් ලැබෙනවා යැයි සිතෙන දිස්ත්රික්කවල ඇතැම් පාසල්වල පවා අපේම සහෝදර සහෝදරියන් බොහෝ විට නිසි පරිදි අධ්යාපනයක් ලැබෙන්නේ නැති බව අපට පසක් වන කරුණක්. මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජය විසින් ‘ශිල්පසර’, අ.පො.ස සා/පෙළ සම්මන්ත්රණ මාලාව සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබුවේ ඔවුන් කේන්ද්ර කොටගෙනය.
මේ වන විට බොහෝ දිස්ත්රික්කවල තෝරාගත් දුෂ්කර පාසල්වල මෙම වැඩසටහන තෙවැනි දිනටත් අති සාර්ථක ලෙස ක්රියාත්මක වෙමින් පවතී. එසේම මේ වන විට මෙම සම්මන්ත්රණ සමග සිසු සිසුවියන් 1500කට අධික පිරිසක් එකතු වී ඇත්තේ අප කෙරෙහි වූ විශ්වාසය නිසාවෙන්මය.
ඉන් පලමු අදියර යටතේ, "ලේ බිඳක් දන් දී ජීවිතයක් බේරාගනිමු." යන්න තේමා කොටගෙන, මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය පරිශ්රය තුළදී 2022 අගෝස්තු 04 වන දින පෙ.ව. 9:00 සිට ලේ දන් දීමේ කඳවුරක් පැවැත්විණි. එමගින් රුධිර ඒකක 150 කට අධික සංඛ්යාවක් ලබාගැනීමට හැකි විය. දෙවැනි අදියර යටතේ, මහරගම අපේක්ෂා පිළිකා රෝහලේ ළමා ඒකකයට අත්යවශ්ය හිඟ ඖෂධ කිහිපයක් ද, කුඩා ළමුන්ගේ නිර්මාණශීලී හැකියාවන් ඔප්නැංවීමට මෙන්ම මානසික සහනය උදෙසා තවත් තෑගි භාණ්ඩද භාර දෙන ලදි.
2022 අගෝස්තු 04 වන දින ප.ව. 2:30 සිට මහරගම අපේක්ෂා පිළිකා රෝහල් පරිශ්රයේ දී මෙය සිදු වූ අතර එදින රැස්ව සිටි කුඩා දරු දැරියන්ට මානසික සුවයක් ලබා දෙමින් සංගීත හමුවක් ද පැවැත්විණි. එදිනම සවස් කාලයේදී, ජාතික රුධිර බැංකුවට එකලස් කරගත් රුධිර ඒකක සමඟ ඉදිරි රුධිර දන් දීමේ ව්යාපෘති සඳහා අත්යවශ්ය වන උපකරණ සහ අමුද්රව්ය රැසක් ද පරිත්යාග කරන ලදි.
As a step to guide Sri Lanka towards an organic food pattern from early ages; We, Leo Club of University of Moratuwa stepped up and organized the project Green Aid.
A2 classroom is a workshop organized by Leo District 306 A2. The purpose of conducting this workshop is to provide the necessary awareness and guidance to the newly appointed executive members of each Leo club that belongs to Leo District 306 A2. The workshop was held successfully on the 07th of August 2022 from 9 a.m. at Lions activity center, Colombo 07 as an onsite workshop parallel to an online workshop with the participation of reputed Lions, Leos, and other distinguished guests.
At the beginning of the workshop, there was a common session for all newly appointed executives and after that, they were separated according to their positions, and separate sessions were conducted for them. Through these sessions, they were able to expand their knowledge of reporting and administration which are essential and related to their positions.
ඔබ මම මෙන්ම සියලුම ලෝකවාසී සත්වයින්ගේ ප්රාථමික අවශ්යතාවයක් ලෙස පිරිසිදු පානීය ජලය සැලකිය හැක. නමුත් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඇතැම් දිස්ත්රික්කවල වාසය කරන අපේම මිනිස්සුන්ට එම මූලික අවශ්යතාවය පවා නොලැබෙන තරම්ය.
මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජය විසින් එවන් වූ ප්රදේශයක පවතින පාසලක් වන කිරිඳිගල්ල ප්රාථමික විද්යාලයේ අපේම නංගිලා මල්ලිලා වෙනුවෙන් ඔවුන්ට පානීය ජලය ලබාදෙන ජල ළිඳ පිරිසිදු කිරීමේ ව්යාපෘතියක් සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබිණි.
මෙහිදී මීට සමගාමීව ඒ සිඟිති මල් කැකුළු සහ ගුරු මඩුල්ල දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනකුත් පාසලේ දී සිදු කෙරුණි. පසුගිය අගෝස්තු 4 වන දින සිදු කරන්නට යෙදුණු මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනෙහි ආරාධිත දේශක ලෙස අප ආරාධනය පිළිගනිමින් පැමිණියේ පාඨශාලා ආචාර්ය සුනිල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා වන අතර එතුමා එහිදී ඉතා හරබර දේශනයකින් කුඩා ළමුන් දැනුවත් කරන ලදි.

උසස් පෙළ හැදෑරීමට විෂයන් තෝරා ගැනීමේදී සිසුන් මුහුණ දෙන ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කර දෙමින් ඔවුන්ගේ සිතැඟි පරිදි ඔවුන්ට සුදුසු විෂයයන් මොනවාද යන්න, ඒ විෂයයන් තෝරාගැනීමේ වාසි අවාසි හා ඒ විෂයයන් ඔස්සේ යා හැකි උසස් අධ්යාපන ක්ෂේත්ර මෙන්ම, අ.පො.ස. උසස් පෙල විභාගය සම්බන්ධව දැනුවත් විය යුතු කරුණු පිළිබඳ මනා අවබෝධයක් ලබා දීම මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කීරීමේ අරමුණ විය.
ඒ අනුව, “පෙරමං තැනුම” වැඩසටහන 2022 ජූලි මස 27 වන දින පෙ.ව.8.00 සිට Zoom තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ බොහෝ පිරිසකගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් ඉතා සාර්ථකව පැවැත්විණි.
We can never measure the value of generosity by a scale. It doesn’t really matter exactly how much you give. What matters most is how you give, whether you give with a genuine feeling of kindness.
During difficult times the already underprivileged people are facing one of the most harsh periods of their lives. So, as Leo Club of University of Moratuwa we put a step forward to help them according to our strength.
We, UoM Leos distributed lunch packets to a group of children from low income earning families and to a few underprivileged people living and working in the streets. A parallel project was conducted by the Leo Club of Nagaon City, Assam, India. Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile. Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.
The happy smile on their faces when they humbly accepted their share would remained engraved in our hearts for a long time to come.

මාස හයක් පුරා දිස්ත්රික්ක 25 ක මුළුල්ලේ පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත මෙම සත් කර්තව්යය සමඟ ඒ ඒ දිස්ත්රික්කවල මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය අපේම ආදරණීය සහෝදර විද්යාර්ථයින් එක් වී සිටිති. මේ වන විට යාපනය, මුලතිව් වැනි දිස්ත්රික්ක ද ඇතුළුව බොහෝ දිස්ත්රික්කවල තෝරාගත් දුෂ්කර පාසල්වල නැණ පියසක ලෙංගතුකම ආරම්භ වී ඇත. දැනට වැඩසටහන් ක්රියාත්මක වූ පාසල් වන්නේ ගම්පහ රද්දොලුව ශ්රි ප්රඤ්ඤානන්ද ජාතික පාසල, ගාල්ල පිටදෙනිය මහා විද්යාලය, නුවර පුපුරැස්ස කනිෂ්ඨ විද්යාලය, මන්නාරම ශාන්ත ලුසියා මධ්ය මහා විද්යාලය, මාතර කඹුරුගමුව විද්යාලය, කිලිනොච්චිය ඉයක්කාච්චි විද්යාලය, කන්තලේ ගල්මෙටියාව විද්යාලය, පුත්තලම මාරවිල පිරිමි කනිෂ්ඨ විද්යාලය, වව්නියාව සුන්දරපුරම් සරස්වතී විද්යාලය, බදුල්ල ඇල්ල මහා විද්යාලය, යාපනය ඉනුවිල් මධ්ය මහා විද්යාලය සහ කෑගල්ල පුවක්දෙණිය ආදර්ශ විද්යාලයයි.
අ.පො.ස. සා/පෙළ යනු බොහෝ පොඩිත්තන්ගේ සිත් සතන්වල බලාපොරොතු රාශියක් එක්රැස් කිරීමට සමත් කඩයිමක්. නගරයේ පාසල්වල විවිධ වූ පහසුකම් සහිතව අධ්යයන කටයුතුවල නියැලෙන සිසු සිසුවියන් වගේම, ඉගෙනීමට අවශ්ය අවම පහසුකම්වත් නොමැතිව ධෛර්යයෙන් යුතුව අධ්යයන කටයුතු කරන පිරිසකුත් ඒ අතර සිටිති. එවැනි වූ පිරිසක් වෙනුවෙන් කෙරෙන මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය බොහෝ දෙනාගේ ආශිර්වාදයට ලක්වෙමින් අති සාර්ථක ලෙස ඉදිරියටත් ක්රියාත්මක වනු නොඅනුමානයි. මාස හයක් පුරාවට දිවෙන ශිල්පසර; නැණ පියසක ලෙංගතුකම සමඟ ඔබත් එක්වන මෙන් ආදරයෙන් ආරාධනා කර සිටිමු.
දෙමව්පියන්ගේ රැකවරණය සහ සෙනෙහස සෑම දරුවෙකුගේම ජීවිතයට අත්යවශ්ය දෙයකි. එවැනි මාපිය සෙනෙහස අහිමි දරුවන් 30කට වැඩි පිරිසක් කන්යා සොහොයුරියන්ගේ රැකවරණය යටතේ ජීවත් වන මොරටුව මදර් තෙරේසා ළමා නිවාසය, 'ආදරේ අරන්' ව්යාපෘතිය වෙනුවෙන් තෝරා ගන්නා ලදි.
මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජයේ අපි මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය සැලසුම් කරන ලද්දේ එම දරුවන්ට සෙල්ලම් කීරීමට අවශ්ය සෙල්ලම් බඩුවලත්, ඇඳුම් පැලඳුම්වලත් හිඟයක් තිබූ අවදියකයි. මූලික වශයෙන් බාහිර පාර්ශවයන්ගේ පරිත්යාග සහ උපකාර මගින් පවත්වාගෙන යන මෙහි දරැවන් සතුටු කිරීම සඳහා දෙහිවල උතුර සිංහ සමාජය දැක්වූ දායකත්වය ආදරයෙන් සිහිකළ යුතුමය.
මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජයේ 19 වන සංවත්සරය අරමුණු කරගනිමින් නව ලියෝ වසරකට ආසිරි පතන්නට, සබැඳි යාත්රා දිවයින පුරා විහිදි ආගමික ස්ථානයන් කේන්ද්ර කොටගෙන ජූලි මස 22 සහ 23 යන දිනවලදී පවත්වන ලදි. එහිදී පූජනීය ස්ථාන පිළිසකර කිරීම ජූලි මස 22 වන දින හා බෝධි පූජා පිංකම ජූලි මස 23 වන දින පහත ආගමික ස්ථානයන් කේන්ද්ර කරගනිමින් සිදු කරන ලදි.
