Sportivation

Sports is not only a place where talented players are born, it is also a place that creates courteous people with good endurance. As we hoped we could successfully launch Sportivation on 19th March 2021 from 9.00 a.m. onwards at Wegalle Primary School, Dehiowita, Kegalle. Under this project, we were able to distribute sports equipment to Wegalla Primary School as well as to conduct a coaching program for the school volleyball team.

Hence, we went to meet such a group of smart fellows who love sports and dream of sports. Accordingly, Sportivation was organized by the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa and the Leo Club of Godigamuwa together with the Lions Club of Kegalle Silver Star.

Be Alert

When we consider train accidents, today its have taken a high place in the accident list. Although there are several numbers of causes happen such as railway accidents, exactly human error is one of the significant cause to happen these accidents. The driver of a vehicle makes a mistake that leads to an accident. So we can say that today a number of railway crossing accidents happen due to lack of railway barriers and also lack of awareness.

The project BE ALERT is initiated by the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa and the Leo Club of Piliyandala with the aim of ensuring the safety of the public crossing the railway by displaying warnings near the railway crossing. The project was launched on 20th March 2021 from 10 a. m. onwards at Mihiripanna Rail crossing, Thalpe, Galle.

Really it was a timely and socially responsible project. As Leos, we are proud of this project because we could do something with the aim of ensuring public safety.

ROBOSTA

There is an endless number of things to discover about robotics. A lot of it is just too fantastic for people to believe. Hands-on experience is the best way to learn about all the interdisciplinary aspects of robotics.

ROBOSTA” which is being revealed as another subversion for those who are enthusiastic about robotics is a webinar series organized by the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa together with the CircuitBreakers as the educational partner. The first workshop of this series could be successfully held on the 6th of March in 2021 from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. via zoom with about 150 participants. And the second workshop was wielded on the 13th of March in 2021 from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. via zoom. All the participants in this workshop were awarded an e-certificate.

The feedback and comments which we received at the end made out that this workshop was an immense opportunity for the young innovators to amplify their knowledge on how automation work while enhancing their passion for robotics. And here, we are envisaging to wield the next workshop of the ROBOSTA Crashcourse as soon as possible. Wait for the next revolution
