Believer

Have you ever thought about how much believing in yourself makes a difference in your quality of life?

If you really don't believe that you can do something, you are going to miss most of the chances of successfully achieving your goals. Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself.

With the prevailing condition of the world, UoM Leos were searching to do something more fruitful. Believer , the project launched by Leo Club of the University of Moratuwa is to make your dream valuable. Believer believes you. So, you need to follow its guidance to make your dream a reality.

Believer
is filled with the video series which includes inspirational speeches related to the most successful persons in the world to encourage you and motivate you. We decided to publish this series of videos via Youtube, Facebook and WhatsApp and are delighted to conduct this motivative project as Leos on behalf of the community under a serious situation of the world.

Whatever you wish to achieve, will be yours until you believe in yourself. All the tools are with you. When you are making progress, life would examine you with difficult experiments. Don't worry‼. The person inside you is far stronger to overcome them.

SIYAPATHA

“Orphanages are the only places that ever make us feel empty and full at the same time

It was a true bliss that as the Leos of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa, we could flourish more than 30 adrift and innocent little hearts in Saint John Boys’ children’s home and Saint Joseph Girls’ children’s home in Kegalle with humble applause through the project “Trip With Kids” by accompanying them to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage on the 4th of October 2020 concurrent with the Children’s Day.

The smile brightening those goody-goody faces declared that they enjoyed the day to the best through many events such as watching playing elephants, the bath of elephants and the fun events such as drawing arts and filling puzzles. They also had the chance to enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch with their friends. They were gifted with small presents at the end of the day.

Our deeds were highly appreciated by the staffs of both children’s homes and it was such an amazing day spent with those lovely children and amiable elephants. At the end of this great social service we were able to have heartfelt humble gladness beyond the success through the happiness came from the faces and lovable little hearts.

Learn From Home

Getting ready well before anything brings a lot of conveniences. That is why it is so essential in the field of education as well. Therefore we, UoM Leos thought it would be worthwhile if we could assist brothers and sisters who are awaiting university entrance to get prepared in advance for the university studies. This is why we brought the project "Learn from Home" to progress.

In phase 1 of the project, the students who are expecting to enter the University of Moratuwa were offered online courses relevant to the degree programs they wish to pursue. Mostly, those online courses were applicable for them to improve their knowledge of the modules they would learn in the first and second semesters at the university.

Thus, a significant number of students have enrolled in those courses and we hope they have gained a proper understanding of their university education. In the same time, the Learn from Home phase 2 is anticipated to launch soon.

Make Them Enlighten

There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on treasure island.’
Make them enlighten, a mobile library project which was wielded by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa together with the Leos of Athugalpura was successfully held on the 20th of September 2020. It was conducted with the aim of helping the little ones on their journey towards literacy & to refresh the minds of readers, near the police station & the fresco juice bar in Kurunegala.

The visitors were given the chance of reading any desirous book which was at the library & the book donations were collected for the library in Bogaswewa College, Wawuniya. Some book donations were collected at the premises of the University of Moratuwa before the project launching.

Also, the poems & free verses were collected to include in the upcoming book to be published by the Leos.

The Leos got positive feedback from the community at the end of the project. At the same time, UoM Leos were very happy since their dedication resulted in a successful project end.
