නිම්න තීර්ථ '21

ජීවිතයේ අභියෝග හා කඩාවැටීම් ඉදිරියේ නොසැලී, ශක්තිමත්ව ඒවාට මුහුණ දෙමින් සාර්ථකත්වයේ නවමු මංපෙත් සොයා ජීවන යාත්‍රාව දියත් කරනු වස් මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයිය ලියෝ සමාජය විසින් සංවිධානය කෙරුණු සෙනෙහසේ යාත්‍රාව - අභිමන් පරපුරක ලෙංගතු යුතුකම, නිම්න තීර්ථ '21 අභිප්‍රේරණ වැඩමුළුව 2500කට අධික ප්‍රේක්ෂක සහභාගිත්වයෙන්,  සුවහසක් වූ පැසසුම් මධ්‍යයේ අති සාර්ථක ලෙස නිමාවට පත් විය.

හදවතේ ගැඹුරුම තැන් ස්පර්ශයෙන් නැණස පාදනු වස් ප්‍රවීන ආචාර්ය ජනක අබේවර්ධන, ප්‍රවීන ලේඛක කැලුම් වැලිගම, සහකාර කථිකාචාර්ය පසන් විජයවර්ධන හා නීතීඥ මියුපි බද්දෙවත්ත යන අපූර්ව පෞරුෂත්වයන් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවන අත්දැකීම් හා වටිනා අදහස් සමඟින් නිම්න තීර්ථය යථාර්ථයක් කිරීම සඳහා අප හා අත්වැල් බැඳගත්තේ නිම්න තීර්ථයේ අභිමානවත් දේශක මඬුල්ල ලෙසයි.

අ.පො.ස. උසස් පෙළ විභාගයට මුහුණ දුන් සහ මුහුණ දීමට නියමිත සිසු සිසුවියන් වෙනුවෙන් පසුගිය 25 වන දා පැවැත්වූ මෙම වැඩසටහන සවස 6.00 සිට පුරා හෝරා දෙකකට අධික කාලයක් zoom තාක්ෂණය  ඔස්සේ මෙන්ම youtube හා facebook හරහාද දිග හැරුනේ ලියෝවරුන් විසින් අභිමන් පරපුරක ලෙංගතු යුතුකම නොපිරිහෙලා ඉටු කරමින්ය.       ජීවන මඟේ සොඳුරු ඉසව්වක් සොයා යනු වස් නිම්න තීර්ථයට ගොඩ වූ සියල්ලන්ගේම නොමඳ ආදරයටත්, ගෞරවයටත් ලක් වෙමින් මෙම වැඩසටහනේ නිමාව සනිටුහන් කිරීමට හැකි වීම පිළිබඳ මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය ලියෝවරුන් ලෙස අප තුළ ඇත්තේ අනතිමානි ප්‍රීතියකි.

සෙනෙහෙ දක්වමු

තුටු සිතින් ගෙවන්නට සැඳෑ යාමය.

පසුගිය මස, එනම් ජූලි මස 23 වන දිනට යෙදුන මොරටුව ව්ශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජයේ 18 වන සංවත්සරයට සමගාමීව මාතර තිහගොඩ ප්‍රදේශයේ ජේෂ්ඨ පුරවැසි නිවහනක මාපියන් වෙනුවෙන් ධර්ම දේශනා වැඩසටහනක් පැවැත්වුණි.

උදෑසන ධර්ම දේශනා වැඩසටහන ලියෝ සමාජිකයන්ගේ ද සහභාගීත්වය ඇතිව, මාපියන්ගේ මනස සුවපත් වන අයුරින් පැවැත්වූ අතර සවස zoom තාක්ෂණය හරහා කලාකරුවන් කිහිප දෙනෙකුගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් මියුරු ගීත පෙලක් සමඟ විනෝදාස්වාදය රැගත් වැඩසටහනක් ද ක්‍රියාත්මක විය.

තවද මාපියන්ගේ අවශ්‍යතා අනුව අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය පරිත්‍යාගයක් ද සිදුකෙරිණි.

ජීවිතයේ සැදෑසමය ගෙවන ආදරණීය මාපියන් පිරිසක් සමඟ ලියෝ දූ දරුවන්ගේ සෙනෙහස බෙදාගත් අපූරු දිනයක් ලියෝ මතක සටහන් අතරට එලෙස එක්විය.

බෝහිමි පාමුල

   

මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජයේ 18 වන සංවත්සය සහ 2021/22 නව ලියෝ වර්ෂයට සෙත් පතනු වස් මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය ලියෝ සමාජය විසින් බෝහිමි පාමුල, ආශිර්වාදයේ පිංකම සංවිධානය කරන ලදි.ඒ අනුව මාතර වෙලේගොඩ පූර්වමහා විහාරය, ගාල්ල ශ්වේත බිම්බාරාමය, කෑගල්ල අලුලෙන පුරාණ රජමහා විහාරය, කුරුණෑගල වැව ගෙදර ශ්‍රී ශෛල බිම්බාරාමය සහ බදුල්ල කරගහවෙල ක්ෂෙතාරාමය යන විහාරස්ථාන කේන්ද්‍ර කරගනිමින් ඒ ඒ විහාරස්ථාන පිළිසකර කිරීම ජුලි මස 21 සහ 22 යන දිනයන්හි දී සිදු කෙරිණි.

සවස් යාමයේ නව ලියෝ වර්යෂට ආශිර්වාද එක් කිරීමේ අරමුණින් සහ රටටසෙත් පැතීමේ අරමුණින්  බෝධි පූජාමය පිංකම් මාලාව සියලුම  සෞඛ්‍යාරක්ෂිතක්‍රම අනුගමනය කරමින් ඒ ඒ විහාරස්ථාන වලදී පැවැත්විණි. 

        ආගම දහම  පෙරටු කරගත් මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය ලියෝවරුන්ගේ ඉදිරි ගමනට අපිත් මෙහිදී ආශිර්වාද එක් කරන්නෙමු.

IRIS

 

“ True friends are like diamonds- bright, beautiful, valuable, and always in style -Nicole Richie”.  

Through many activities, we can polish our friendship. Iris was such a fellowship program organized to enhance the friendship among the Leo club of Sunway Metro of Malaysia & the Leo club of University of Moratuwa. This program was held virtually on the 10^th of July. There were so many fun activities organized at the event such as Guess the movie, gartic.io and secret agent. At the end of the games, the losing team was punished by other teams. It was really an enjoyable event. Members of both Leo clubs improved friendship among them. 

Also, Leos of University of Moratuwa and Leos of Sunway Metro of Malaysia shared presentations about the cultures of their counties. A Member of UoM Leo club performed a Malaysian song and one member of Sunway Metro Leo club performed a Sinhala song. Both performances were eye-catching and attractive.

Thus, Iris was a great opportunity to get to know each other and to make new friends from overseas. We look forward to doing another project to renew our friendship.

 

Fluency Fast - Phase 02

" The limits of your language are the limits of your world "

Due to the corona pandemic situation, the whole education system is still collapsed. As UoM Leos we thought of conducting the second phase of the Fluency fast English course, to support the students, who desire to learn English. 

Fluency Fast is an online English course launched by the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with Baines English Academy to sharpen fluency in English communication during this quarantine period. The course outline is set as it suits for any proficiency level in English while covering the following scopes.

The course is mainly focused on after Advanced level & undergraduate students but also for anyone who seeks to improve their speaking and grammar knowledge. The course content is enriched with important English Grammar parts, vocabulary developing related to grammar and communication, listening , and presentation skill development. The course basically covers the areas of English for both academic purposes & career development purposes.

The course successfully started on 5th June with 400+ registered participants. The classes are being conducted from every Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In relation to this, a "motivational session" was held on the 18th of June via zoom, with  the great motivating of the guest speaker, Dr. Sangadasa de Silva, giving the students a valuable opportunity to  increase their English knowledge by enhancing their diligence.

Further, ‘Paint your Wings’, a career guidance programme was conducted by Lion Sumudu Amarasinghe, advisor of UoM Leo club on the 9th of July whilst sharing her valuable knowledge on career planning. Her worthy contribution and support made this attempt a huge success.

With positive feedback from the students who got the chance to enhance their English knowledge in the best way, UoM Leos are successfully completing the second journey of Fluency fast.

Knowventure

 “As is our confidence, So is our capacity”

The Leo Club of University of Moratuwa brought the initiative KNOWVENTURE to encourage club bearers to enhance their self-confidence and become effective while contributing to society. The goal was to establish a worthwhile public awareness campaign by equipping club bearers with accountable governance. Club members were initially challenged in regard to their creativity and design capabilities.

The project KNOWVENTURE was launched as an online workshop in order to improve the design strengths of Club Bearers. The plan was developed to accommodate designers of diverse levels of experience in addition to addressing a wide range of topics in three days.

The session covered a wide range of topics, including general design, academic design, and career development as well.

The program started successfully on the 3rd of July, with the active participation of club members of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa. Illustrator and photoshop were the main topics of discussion on Day 1. Video editing was the topic of discussion on Day 2. Guest speaker was Leo Thilina Prasad for both Day 1 and Day 2. Youtuber Avishka Viraj Konara led the workshop on video vlogging on the third consecutive day of the workshop.

The workshop continued successfully on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of July, with the involvement of club bearers who strive for excellence at any time in order to serve the public.
