The grand finale of SpeechX was held virtually on the 30th of January 2021 from 6.30 p.m. on zoom. For the final round, five combatants were competing to secure their position.
We would like to thank all, who dedicated with an ardour to achieve this extravaganza, and especially our heartiest gratitude for all the competitors who engaged in illuminating this arena.
The first ever international joint general meeting of Leo club of University of Moratuwa and Leo club of the University of Delhi was successfully held on 6th February 2021. This was a remarkable occasion of friendship despite thousands of miles through land and ocean. It really was beginning for a new voyage for both clubs.
The meeting was held via zoom, from 7.00 p.m. onwards.
The dignitaries of the meeting was marked with the chief guest - president of Leo District 306A2 Praminda Vindika, guest of honour - Leo Ishan Sudan, president of Leo District 321A2 and special guest- chairperson of Leo District 321A2 gracing the occasion. Their presence sailed the occasion to the success.
Therefore we, the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa thought to conduct "E - Vantage" a project to donate computers for R/EMB/Andoluwa College. Although lots of the students in this school are willing to select ICT for the O/L examination, the limited facilities have made them hesitant. Having only one computer for the entire school have impacted badly the ICT literacy of the students.

As the first step of this project, we conducted research. We created a questionnaire and shared it through social media. Through viewpoints of 560 respondents, we found that 24% of people among them are suffering from depression due to various reasons. Data analysis has shown that charity work is a good solution to reduce depression.
As the second step of this project, we conducted a webinar. It was held via zoom on the 23rd of January 2021 from 6.00 p.m onwards. Senior psychological counsellor, Mrs Esharma Kariyawarna and personal development trainer and motivational speaker, Mrs Nadeepa Ranasinghe participated as guest speakers of the event. They excellently peached the session dedicating their valuable time. There was a discussion on depression, the relationship between charity and depression together with a motivational discussion.
This webinar was concluded successfully with the participation of nearly 100 participants. We got much amazing feedback from them admiring our effort. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped us to make this project a success.
