Vision Ray

Vision Ray is a phase-wise eye health awareness project organized by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa, targeting different community categories with the aim of promoting awareness, accessibility and better eye care practices.

“Vision Ray - Phase 1” was conducted on 10th March 2026 at Galbada Athuruwella Maha Vidyalaya. This phase focused on empowering school students with essential knowledge on protecting and maintaining healthy vision, encouraging early awareness and preventive care. 

“Vision Ray - Phase 2” was held on 14th March 2026 at Sri Jayashekararamaya Temple, Batuwita. This programme aimed to offer essential services and guidance to help maintain optimal eye health. Key highlights included free vision examinations, eye health awareness sessions and the availability of discounted spectacles, ensuring both education and accessibility for the community. 

“Vision Ray - Phase 3" was successfully conducted on 4th April 2026 at Piliyandala Central College. This phase further strengthened the initiative by providing accessible vision care services and awareness. Community members were given the opportunity to receive vision screenings, eye health education and discounted spectacles, encouraging improved eye care practices.

Collectively, the Vision Ray project reflects a comprehensive and impactful approach to enhancing eye health awareness and accessibility within the community.
