Sustania is a multi-phase community service project by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with Leo Club of Piliyandala, aimed at promoting sustainability, environmental responsibility and improved quality of life through impactful interventions.
Sustania - Phase 01 was successfully conducted on 18th December 2025 at Pihitiwewa Maha Vidyalaya, Polonnaruwa. This phase focused on enhancing access to clean and safe drinking water by donating a water filtration system to the school, thereby supporting better health and well-being among students.
Sustania - Phase 02 was held on 3rd February 2026 at Sri Jayashekararamaya Temple, Batuwita, Horana. This awareness programme was designed to educate families on energy conservation by encouraging the reduction of electricity wastage. In addition, energy-efficient light bulbs were distributed to assist households in lowering electricity consumption and related costs.
Phase 03 of Sustania - Solar Street Light project was successfully carried out on 20th April 2026 at Thripitaka Sathdharma Viharaya, Middeniya. This phase aimed to promote sustainable energy adoption through the installation of solar-powered street lighting in public spaces, contributing to a cleaner, safer and more energy-efficient community.
Collectively, Project Sustania reflects a well-coordinated effort to address essential community needs while fostering long-term sustainability and environmental awareness.
