Thus, retaining the experience of glorious 16 years in publishing newsletters , Leo Club of University of Moratuwa commenced the project “Stimulus” to share our knowledge on both designing and editing sectors with our fellow clubs in Leo Multiple District 306. The event was held via zoom on the 21st of November 2020 from 3.00 p.m to 5.30p.m. Our main objectives were to encourage and help the clubs that are not yet publishing a newsletter to get into the field without anxiety and to share our knowledge with everyone interested in the area.Thus,prior to the project,we got an idea about the troubles and the difficulties faced by them in publishing a newsletter through a simple questionnaire.
Leo Champaka Dammage, the president of Leo multiple district 306 graced the event as the chief guest.Guest speakers of the event were Leo Yasiru Nilan, the chairman of Information and Technology committee of Leo multiple district 306 and Leo Buddi Wikasithathe, the Advisor of the IT team of Leo District 306A2 and the Chief Designer of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa(Leostic Year 2016/17).Leo Sanath Ramesh,the Chief Editor of Leo Club of The chief editor of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa(Leostic Year 2019/20) also joined with us to share his valuable experience as the Most Outstanding Bulletin Editor in Leo multiple district 306.Adding more value to our effort, Leo club of Piliyandala and Leo club of SLTC also joined with us to share their experiences about newsletter publishing.A Q&A session was also held to provide solutions to the participants at the end.
The importance of having a newsletter as a Leo Club,technical knowledge on article writing and designing the newsletters and tips to efficiently manage the work load were included in the content of the work shop.
This project was concluded successfully with the participation of nearly 100 participants.Finally we shared the record of stimulus through facebook and youtube.We got many amazing feedback from our fellow Leos admiring our efforts.We would like to extend our heart felt gratitude gratitude to everyone who helped us to make this project a grand success.
