Environment is our breath; nature is our heart. We can’t live without heart and breathing. If we kill the environment, we kill ourselves. Therefore, we must protect it while possessing it. As a team of working on our social responsibilities, we UoM Leos kept a step to protect our breath and make the protection to our lives. Though, this is not a responsibility of a specified organization but the responsibility of all human beings.
“Green Quest” is a collective effort of Leo Club of Rathanapitiya and Leo club of University of Moratuwa to uplift the society of the country by conducting research about “What do you think about Waste Management”. We did this research with the aim of a sustainable future involving the society. According to this research, we said that each person had responsibility of the environment protection.
All wastes have the potential to cause environmental damage if not correctly managed. The main reason for waste management is the protection of the environment and the health of the population. The objective of the research was not only about getting details about waste managing, but also giving proper ideas to society about the value of our environment. The environment and the economy are really both two sides of the same coin. If we cannot sustain the environment, we cannot sustain ourselves.
