HOPE³

HOPE³ is a project focused on raising awareness about pediatric cancer and highlighting the importance of early detection, treatment and community support. The initiative aimed to educate the public, reduce stigma and encourage people to stand in support of children affected by cancer and their families.

The project was built on a simple idea: bringing people together to create awareness through action. Rather than limiting efforts to discussions, HOPE³ created opportunities for individuals to actively participate and contribute to the cause.

5K run and a community walk organized by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa

One of the key strengths of HOPE³ was its international collaboration. Leo clubs from Sri Lanka, India and Brazil carried out activities under a shared objective, creating a wider reach for the message and strengthening the impact of the initiative.

Locally, the project included several community-based events. A 5K run and a community walk were organized to engage participants and create visibility for pediatric cancer awareness. These activities encouraged people to come together while understanding and supporting the cause.

International partner clubs also contributed through their own initiatives. A cycle rally organized by Leo Club of Guwahati South in India and a beach tennis tournament organized by Leo Club of Frontera de Sudoeste in Brazil added to the overall reach of the project. Each activity supported the same goal of raising awareness through active participation.

All funds collected through HOPE³ were donated to Apeksha Hospital to support the treatment and care of children battling cancer. This ensured that the project created not only awareness but also direct and meaningful support for those in need.

The project was supported by strong partnerships including Nestomalt as the title partner, which helped strengthen its implementation and expand its reach.
