PlatForm ReBorn

On 12th July 2025, the familiar bustle of Nugegoda Railway Station will be joined by something extraordinary: the sounds of teamwork, the spirit of collaboration and the drive for positive change. PlatForm ReBorn, a joint project by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa, and Leo Club of Panadura Alubomulla with co-partner Planet Protectors, is set to transform the station into a safer, cleaner and more welcoming space for all.

Nugegoda Railway Station is a transport hub for many daily commuters. However, it has faced challenges in cleanliness, tidiness and greenery, which can affect relaxation in a busy environment. PlatForm ReBorn directly tackles these challenges.

Starting at 9.00 AM volunteers will gather to carry out renovations and improvements. These efforts will include enhancing cleanliness and beautifying the surroundings so that passengers can enjoy a more pleasant and secure environment. The project also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining public spaces.

By bringing together young leaders, local residents, commuters and environmental advocates, PlatForm ReBorn strengthens the sense of belonging within the community. Many have contributed to this effort, including officers at Nugegoda Railway Station and numerous volunteers.

Through this project, Leos aim to inspire others to take pride in their shared spaces and continue caring for them long after the work is done.
