Mithran is a traditional Thai Pongal celebration event organized by Leo Club of University of Moratuwa in collaboration with Leo Club of Colombo Monarch and Leo Club of Dehiwala East on 14th of January 2025. This vibrant cultural day was celebrated at Sri Venkateshwara Maha Vishnu Moorthy Kovil, Mount Lavinia and it was dedicated to embracing the spirit of Thai Pongal with joy and tradition.
Thai Pongal is not just a celebration. It’s a symbol of gratitude, unity and togetherness. At the Kovil, we shared the Pongal rice we prepared with fellow devotees spreading the warmth and generosity of the festival. That day was filled with the delicious taste of Pongal rice and the beauty of colourful Kolam decorations.
A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated volunteers and Leos who joined hands for the success of this project Mithran. Your efforts truly reflected the cultural harmony and festive spirit of this celebration.
