Aim zero incident

"An accident brings tears, Safety brings cheers."

Life is the most precious gift we have ever received. Therefore Safety should be a main priority of all of us as life is something that should be allowed to be lost easily.Aim zero incident is an successful attempt which was to confirm safety.

The Leo club of University of Moratuwa together with the Leo club of Christ Church Girls college, Baddegama organized this very important  project, called " Aim zero incident". The main aim of this project was to prevent accident.

Our country is currently experiencing a large Number of deaths due to drowning each year. Going to bath in inappropriate places, without knowing the nature of the water is the main reason for these accidents. Recognizing this problem, we thought to select a location where drowning accidents are common & erect awareness boards there.

As the first phase of the Aim zero incident project, we planned to erect a warning notice board near the Maha Oya in front of the Pinnawala zoo in Hiriwadunna as we found that place had been a reason for many deaths from a long while. The programme was held on 21st of December 2021.

We continued the project for a second phase & as the second phase we decided to choose a place where read accidents are common & erect awareness boards there.

Every year we lose hundreds of precious human lives due to road accidents in our country. Reckless driving is the main reason we noticed for that. We understood that if we can do something to bring back their attention, it is priceless.

After recognizing this problem we chose a place where many accidents have happened.

We erected a warning sign board near Anguruwatota Narthupana junction on the Horana- Mathugama road on  13th January 2022.

Aiming zero accidents we could successfully complete the project " Aim zero incident" by socializing the importance of preventing an accident before it happens.
