New Board - New Era

The 9th installation ceremony of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa was held on 24th of July 2009 at Lagoon villa hotel, near to the University of Moratuwa.

The chief guest and the guest of honour of the occasion were District President Leo Kasun Pathirana. In his speech he mentioned the significance of the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa throughout its lionism & how it strengthened the District in difficult times.
Past president Leo Damith Amarakon also made a wonderful presentation on his year of the club revoking great memories of the good old days. District President Leo Kasun Pathirana inducted R.T.M.Dissanayake, Kushan Siriwardena, L.R.W.Wasantha, Sajith Senevirathne & Kalhari Soysa as new leos who will hold future of the club.

Lion Thulitha Piiyasena made an inspiring speech which explained how leonism helped him in his successful carrier. The installation was got more colourful by the year-gone-by and "Mada" presentations. Especially beauty of the venue, which was surrounded by Bolgoda Lake & the attractive decorations, added extra value for the occasion. It was a perfect start for the newly elected board & couldn’t be better than that. Finally, thank you very much visiting club members & others who were there for the occasion to making it a successful event.

WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE - Awareness program about the share market

It was all about share market, just in the middle of a pocket meeting to discuss about future projects on up coming months. Most of the university students try to earn some money to spend their day to day life by using different methods. So what about introducing the share market to our batch mates……..it was not a just another idea, a great one.

So without any hesitation we talked about it in the same meeting. So we the UOM leo’s divided the responsibilities and as the first thing we contacted managers from the Colombo stock exchange as the knowledge distributors. So as they gave us a date to do the work shop, we discussed how to find sponsors for our workshop to overcome financial difficulties on printing material ,advertising and refreshments. So we had suggestion from one of our leo’s to add stock brokers as the financial supporters.

Next it was about how to do the advertising part inside and outside the university. As the first thing we did a poster campaign inside the university displaying the venue and the date ,here few of the posters we used…..

Not only posters,we even used the the facebook as method of advertising to pass the massage to other leo clubs. And also we displayed huge digitally printed cut outs in front of the university entrance.

After d things do make our project a success and it was 25^th of august we were at the venue ,electronic and telecommunication department university of moratuwa. It was a lecture room with a capacity over hundred students. As the guest speakers from the Colombo stock exchange were right on time at the premises, we started the work shop at 10.30 am with a warm welcome by the project chairman.

Guest speakers continued lectures for more than two hours with tutorials and hand books including information about CSE.

While the lecture was delivering some of the guest from CSE gave more information to individuals and they helped them to open new accounts on share market with the help from visiting stock broaking companies who were present at the occasion. So at the end of the lecture listeners were given a time to clear out their problems. By taking the best use of it most of the listeners raised hands to full fill their mistaken points.

පුංචි මුවට හසරැල්ලක් . .

පුංචි ළමයි මල් වගේ කියල හැමෝම කියනවා.එත් ඇයි හැමෝම එහෙම කියන්නේ ? ඔයාලට ඒකට උත්තරයක් තියෙනවද ?

පුංචි ළමයි මල් වගේ ලස්සන නිසාද ? එහෙමත් නැතිනම් එයාල ළඟ මල් වල සුවඳ තරම් වූ සුවඳ හමන ගතිගුණ තියෙන නිසාවත්ද ?
ඒ කොහොම උනත් මලකට හොඳ හැටි පිපිලා සුවඳ දෙන්න නම් හරි හැටි පෝෂණය ලැබෙන්න ඕනි . අවට පරිසරයත් මනස්කාන්තව තියෙන්න ඕනි. එතකොටයි මේ මුළු ලෝකෙටම සුවඳ දෙන්න මලකට පුළුවන් වෙන්නේ.
මලක් වෙලා පිපිලා තිබුනත් සතුටින් හිනා වේවි ඉන්න බවක් නොපෙනුණු මල් ටිකක් මේ ලඟදි අපිට නෙත ගැටුනා. ඉතින් අපි අපිට පුළුවන් තරමින් පුළුවන් වෙලාවක් ඒ මල් සතුටු කරලා ඒ මල්වල සුවඳින් අපේ ජීවිතත් සුවඳවත් කරගත්තා කිව්වොත් නිවැරදියි.
ලියෝ ලක්ශ්‍රි විසින් තමයි මේ වැඩේට මුල පිරුවේ. රාවතාවත්ත ළමා නිවාසයට ගිහින් ඒ අය එක්ක කතා බහ කරලා සින්දුවක් කියලා , නාට්‍යක් කරලා , තෑගි බෝග බෙදා දීල එන්න අපි තීරණය කලේ කලින් කියපු විදියට ඒ මල් ටික සතුටු කරලා ඒ තුලින් මේ ලෝකෙට ඒ මල් වල සුවඳ දනවන්න හිතාගෙනයි.
ඉතින් අගෝස්තු මාසේ 16 වෙනිදා අපි තෑගි බෝග ගොඩකුත් අරගෙන එයාලව සතුටු කරන්න වාදන භාණ්ඩ එහෙමත් අරගෙන ළමා නිවාසය වෙත පිය මැන්නා. එහෙ උන්නේ නංගිලා 13 දෙනෙක් . ඒ අය අපි එනකන් මග බලාගෙන උන්නේ හරියට දන්නා කියන කෙනෙක් එනකන් ඉන්නවා වගෙයි. ඉතින් අපිටත් ගිය ගමන් ඉඳන් ඒ අය අපේ ලඟම අය විදියට දැනෙන්න ගත්තා.
මුලින්ම ඒ අයව නම් වශයෙන් හදුනාගන්න අපි අමතක කලේ නැහැ. ඊලගට අපිවත් ඒ විදියටම නම් වශයෙන් ඒ අයට හදුන්වා දුන්නා. එතැනදී ළමා නිවාසයේ පාලිකා මහත්මියත් අපිට ලොකු සහයෝගයක් දක්වපු බව නම් මතක් කරන්න ඕනිමයි.



ඊළඟට අපේ ලියෝ සාමාජිකයින් ඔක්කොම එකතුවෙලා නංගිලා වෙනුවෙන් සින්දු කිහිපයක් ගායන කළා. ඒ අය සමහර සින්දු අපිත් එක්ක ගායන කලා වගේම සමහර පුංචි නංගියෙක් ඉඳහිට ඉදිරියට ඇවිත් නටන්න තරම් එඩිතර වුනා.



ඊළගට අපේ ලියෝ අයියා ඉදිරිපත් වෙලා ඒ අයට පොඩි තරඟයක් පැවැත්වුවා.දිනන අයට විතරයි තෑගි දෙන්නේ කියල ඒ අයව උනන්දු කරලා ඒ අයගේ දක්ෂතා එලියට ගන්න අපිට පුළුවන් උනා.



මුලින්ම දෙන්නෙක් සින්දු කිව්වා.ඊළගට තව නංගි කෙනෙක් අභිරුපණ රංගනයක් ඉදිරිපත් කළා.ඒ හැම දෙකින්ම ඒ අය සතුටු වුන වගේම අපිත් අප්‍රමාණ සන්තෝෂයක් ලැබුවා. පොත් පත් එක්ක ගැටිලා ගැටිලා හෙම්බත් වෙලා තියෙන අපේ හිත වලට ඒ සන්තෝෂය ලවනට වට මී බින්දු වගේ උනා කිව්වොත් නිවැරදියි.
අන්තිමටම ඒ අය අපූරු නාට්‍යක් ඉදිරිපත් කළා.ඒකට නම් ඔක්කොම වගේ නංගිලා සහභාගී වුනා.
ඒ අතරින් අපි හැමෝටම මතක හිටින රසාස්වාදයෙන් වැඩිම අංගය වුනේ එයාල දෙන්නෙක් එක්ක ඉදිරිපත් කරමු "ලේලි සහ නැන්දම්මා" නාට්‍ය කිව්වොත් මම නිවැරදියි.



මොකද ඒ පද්‍ය පන්තියේ පද්‍ය අපිට තවම මතකයි.ඒ කවි පන්තිය පොඩි කාලේ ඇහුවට පස්සේ ඇහුවේ එදා. ඉතින් අපිව අයෙමත් අපේ පුංචි කාලයට අරගෙන යන්නත් ඒ ආදරණීය නංගිලා සමත් වුනා.
අන්තිමටම අපේ පමල් අයියා , ලක්ජීව අයියා සහ ලක්ශ්‍රි අයියා එකතු වෙලා බොහොම ආදර්ශවත් නාට්‍යක් ඉදිරිපත් කළා.නාට්‍යයේ තිබුණු විහිලු වලට හැමෝම හිනා උනත් අන්තිමේ පුංචි නංගිලාට එකෙන් ගන්න ලොකු ආදර්ශයක් තිබුනා. ඉගෙනගත්තේ නැත්නම් අපිට වෙන දේ වගේම ඉගෙනගත්තම අපේ ජීවිත වෙනස් වෙන හැටි , යහපත් වෙන හැටි බොහොම ලස්සනට ඒ නාට්‍ය තුලින් පුංචි නංගිලාට අපි කියලා දුන්නා.


අවසානයේ අපි ඒ අය එක්ක ටිකක් වෙලා සෙල්ලම් කරන්නත් අමතක කලේ නම් නැහැ.මොකද ඒ අය විසින්ම අපිව ඒකට ඇදගෙන ගියා. ඒ තරම් ඒ අය අපි එක්ක සුහදතාවයකින් උන්න ඒ වෙද්දී.අන්තිමටම අපි ඒ හැමෝටම ගෙනියපු තෑගි බෙදලා දීලා ඉවරවෙලා පාලිකා මහත්මිය එක්කත් කතා කරලා බොහොමත්ම සන්තොෂමත් සිතකින් යුක්තව සහ ජීවිතය පිලිබඳ ලොකු අවබෝධයකින් යුක්තව එතනින් එන්න පිටත් වුනා.



අපි එතන ගත කලේ සවස් වරුවක් විතරක් වුනත් ඒ පුංචි මල්වල අනාගතය වෙනුවෙන් , සතුට වෙනුවෙන් අපිට පුළුවන් තරමින් උදව් වුනා කියන සන්තොෂමත් හැඟීම අපේ සිතේ තවමත් ඉතිරිවෙලා තියෙනවා.



අපේ මේ කටයුත්ත සාර්ථක කරගන්න පොත් පත් ලබාදුන්නු අපේ ගෞරවනීය "තෙරුවන" බෞද්ධ සංවිධානයේ සභාපති වස්කඩුවේ සිරි සරණ ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේටත්, ඒ වගේම නන්දන පතිරගේ මහත්මයාටත් අප සැමගේ ස්තුතිය මෙන්ම පුණ්‍ය අනුමෝදනාවද මෙලෙසින් පල කරන්නෙමු.
