Haltrenew

Leo Club of University of Moratuwa successfully concluded the project “Haltrenew” on 17th August 2024 which was aimed at revitalizing a local bus halt at Malimbada, Matara. This endeavour enhanced the appearance of the bus stop improving the commuter experience in their daily lives.

The success of this project was made possible by volunteers of UoM Leos. The bus halt which was in dire need of renovation was transformed into a refreshed and welcoming space for the community. Volunteers were involved in repairing the damaged concrete seats other than painting the faded walls with fresh paints and a thorough clean-up was conducted around the bus halt area to remove the leaf litter.

This initiative not only provided a safer and more aesthetically pleasing environment for commuters but also fostered a sense of community and collective effort. It showcases the power of working together to create a lasting positive impact. We sincerely appreciate all of the committed volunteers who gave their all to make this effort a reality.

This revitalized bus stop stands as a sign of positive change which reminds us of the spirit of teamwork. We, UoM Leos are excited to continue this journey of making meaningful contributions to the community.
