December 1st is the world AIDS day. World AIDS Day was established by WHO in 1988. This day provides governments, national AIDS programs, faith organizations, community organizations, and individuals with an opportunity to raise awareness and focus attention on the global AIDS epidemic.

World AIDS Day 2010 is all about raising awareness to tackle HIV prejudice and help stop the spread of HIV.

Lets join our hands together to educate people about AIDS and stop the spreading of HIV.

Green Together - Leo Walk 2010

Leo Multiple DIstrict 306 is organizing the annual Leo walk for the year 2010 under the theme "Together Green". The walk is scheduled to be held From Mahanama College to Lions Activity Center Colombo on 4th December 2010.

Now its time to call your fellow Leo Members, Family and Friends for the most awaited day.
Dress Code for the walk will be Blue Denim/Skirt with White or Green T-Shirt/Shirt/Blouse.

අපි අකුරට මැලි නොවෙමු................

It is the end of November and the Ordinary Level exams are closing in. LEOs of Leo Club of University of Moratuwa decided to give a helping hand to a set of students who are not having the guidance of a mathematics teacher in their school.Since those children do not have enough facilities to learn privately and they do not have enough learning material, Sumanajothi Maha Vidyalaya, Ambagasdowa, Welimada was selected as the place to conduct the seminar on 27^th November 2010.

More than 120 students participated in the event where they were given a complete model exam paper and some other additional notes which were prepared by UoM LEOs. Problems that they had regarding the examination questions were discussed and gave solutions for their problems. The seminar was conducted from 8 a.m to 3 p.m.

Finally we could motivate the students to face the exam in a confident manner using our experiences as well. At the end of the day it was a great experience we had teaching them, and it is our hope that they will do well and achieve the best results in the exam.
