Women being harassed in public has become a very frequent incident. Every day on social media it seems, we are hearing about women being victimized up many extents. Protecting the woman from these harassments should be a major concern of the nowadays society.

In that case, how about letting the woman to defend her-self at to some extent? We, UOM Leos thought of giving some basic knowledge and experience to the university students on self-defending joining hands with Mora Karate; the karate team of University of Moratuwa.
The Self Defense Workshop was held on February 25th, 2019 from 5 p.m. onwards at the Old Gymnasium on University premises with the participation of many girls who are interested in self-defense. The guidance was given by Mr. Pradeep Satharasinghe, the Representative of ISKF Sri Lanka branch and IKMA Sri Lanka branch, and the help of our own brothers and sisters of Mora karate. The event was highly appreciated by the participants that it was a novel experience for them and that it has developed self-confidence and discipline in them.
